FO - Mother’s Day Half Blanket

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

Yes, I am aware that it is not Mother’s Day, not even close.  My sister and I are just a little behind.  :)  Our goal was to get this done by Thanksgiving, and I am a week early!  Yay!

Pattern: Shivaree Throw (Ravel it!)

Yarn: Red Heart Soft Yarn in Leaf, 5.25 balls

Needles: US 7

Started: September 3rd

Finished: November 21st

Lyndsay will complete the other half, and we will join them together to create the blanket for mom!

Up next, something orange!

FO: Little Angel Sweater

Finally!

Pattern: Little Angel Top (Ravel it!)

Yarn: Debbie Bliss Cashmerino in Magenta, 3 balls

Needles: US 2 and 3

Started: June 16th

Finished: October 16th

Geez.  4 months is a long time to complete a baby sweater, I know!  But blocking it just seemed like too much work.  Overall, this was fun to knit, and I am pleased with how it came out.  I might re-block the bottom, it is a little pointy from my first, lazy, blocking job.  We will see.

I can’t wait to see the new baby (soon to arrive) for whom this is for!

Jaxon’s Famous!!!

Look, look!!!

Okay, I am there too, but it doesn’t count (yes, my name is spelled wrong, but even my health insurance doesn’t have it right, so how can I expect the Harlot to get it?). :)

Whoops…

This is what my diamond lace scarf looks like now…

I can knit lace. But I discovered that if I screw it up, I cannot fix it.

Oh well, lesson learned.

I love those WIPs!

First, I have to mention my most important work in progress, Jaxon! He is progressing nicely, don’t you think?
Okay, on to my crafty WIPs. First, I have decided to try my hand at lace knitting. I decided to start off slow by knitting a scarf with a lace pattern I found in Stitchionary (pattern #110 for anyone with the book that wants more details). It is going well so far I think. I love the yarn, Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino, but I am afraid I will never memorize the lace pattern which seems like it will make this project so tedious. We will see!
The whole point in practicing lace is to start on this project next.
It is Soleil from Knitty. I have some Knit Picks Shine Sport in Orchid that I want to use to knit it!
Another scarf I started over the weekend is the Shades of Plaid Scarf from Crochet Me. It doesn’t look like much now, but I think it ill be cool when I finish.
I also recently finished a baby sweater, more on that soon. (Thanks to Aunt Lyndsay for amusing the boy while I sewed up the last few seems on that one!)
