It is very important to dress appropriately for the beach. Here is J showing G the outfit he chose.

Here are G and J standing at the beach for the first time!

We went to the beach for a company picnic for G’s work. While G went to fetch us food, Jaxon and I hung out and he played with his tiny Converse!

After dinner, we went back down to the beach to enjoy the fabulous view.

We had a great time. Can you tell that J loved the beach?

Okay, here is an after shot so you know he survived…

Aren’t you glad I shared?

Hello, and welcome to my first post for the group I just joined, Tuesday’s with Dorie!
So, I admit, I didn’t make Cherry Rhubarb Cobbler. I couldn’t find any Rhubard! So, I copied the idea of fellow members who did not have access to rhubarb and made Cherry Apple Cobbler.
All my ingredients.

A note: never again will I bake with fresh cherries and not have a cherry pitter. That sucked.
My cobbler before baking. (The recipe specified 20 balls of dough, 4 x 5, in a square dish. Since I made mine in a round, I decided to go crazy and ignore that part of the recipe, and just make balls until I ran out of dough and then cover the fruit with them in any pattern I saw fit. It worked.)

About 40 minutes later, out came this!

Half went to my grandpa, the other half to dinner at my parent’s house. I have to say, I loved it. Especially the little bit of bite that the ginger gave it. Thanks to Amanda from Like Sprinkles on a Cupcake for choosing such a yummy recipe. What a great way to start with this group!

Great with vanilla ice cream!

Jaxon is a strong supporter of the arts. First, he was a big part of the parade that starts our city’s local art fair this weekend.

He is the one on the left.
See, huge part of the parade.
He then was kind enough to actually attend the art fair the next day and enjoy some of the artsy goods.

Okay, so the goods weren’t that artsy, more sugary really, and he didn’t really enjoy it. But he did watch G and I enjoy it! That counts for something, doesn’t it?
After all of that activity this weekend, he requested we spend a day just relaxing at home. So today, we did what he wanted to again. (This boy just RULES our lives!)

We just chilled on the couch and Jaxon chewed on his snail chewy (by the way, Jaxon has his first tooth!) and the remote.
Good times.

Fresh basil pesto on farfalle with diced tomato. (Basil, tomato and recipe all from this week’s harvest box.)
Yum.

On Wednesdays, my boys stay at home (G works four 10-hour days now and Wednesday is his extra day off) and play while I have to go to work (poo!).
I guess yesterday G wanted to point out to me how much fun they were having at home without me. He sent me this picture.
My happy boys:
Please ignore the uber mess in the background. Pay attention only to the fun-having boys. Also note one of my furry boys in the lower left corner, blurry from motion!
G must have been bored, he sent me this picture as well.
My evil, freaky boys:

It is so nice of G to remind me throughout the day how much fun they are having at home without me!

We are all alive. J is getting over a fun little stage (the puking has ceased). We will all be well very soon. Sorry I haven’t been here in a while. Unless being too lazy to upload the pictures from your camera is now a good excuse to not blog, I have no good excuse. But to make up for it, I do have good pictures to show you.
We went to the Zoo! J’s first trip there. Although I am not sure he knew he was there or that there were animals (okay, I am pretty sure he didn’t), I do know he had a great time! Want proof?
Here are G and J enjoying the sights together.

Here is J cooling off with our water bottle (it was freakin’ hot the day we went).

Oh, did you want a picture of animals to prove we were actually at the zoo?
Here. Hippo butts!

That is all for now. I will end this post with one of the cutest pictures of J yet.
The strainer tops it off nicely, don’t you think?

Are you a bad mom if you find that your infant son fell asleep on the floor?

Well, either way, it gave me time to bake!
I made banana cupcakes and “frosted” them with Nutella. YUM!

I messed one of the big ones up while I frosted it, so I had to sacrifice and eat it for breakfast to destroy the evidence. Darn. I suffer.
I hope you enjoy your weekend!
